Great school, very safe and enjoyable environment, the library is a great place to study, not alot of girls about but they are all smart and hardworking. Would recommend
My classmates are incredibly passionate about their school work. As a junior, most classmates I've spoken to have already been employed in their field of study through an internship or co-op.
We have world class academia intertwined with support staff that brings top employers to campus for interviews. They sell beautiful, professional clothing at cost to ensure everyone is dressed for perfection when they meet with their dream employer.
At 20 years old, you can begin putting your engineering skills to use, saving your company hundreds of thousands of dollars - and you can make a lot of $$ too.
I constantly marvel at my colleagues here at MTU. They are so brilliant, so determined, so responsible, and so happy about where they are going. I have never met a student or faculty member who was here by default. We are here because it is beautiful and we can enjoy the fantastic academic programs.
The most amazing school that I could have ever asked for!
Awesome community, friendly professors, and more than enough snow!
A community that always stands up for peace, and then turns around to kick ass in hockey + football!
As someone who attended this school and transferred out (more than a quarter of students do) I have a critical viewpoint. Professors were good, class sizes were acceptably small for the freshmen and sophomore classes I was taking although they were easy and boring. The school's admissions office is struggling to get enough students so they basically accept anyone and its obvious in the student body. I would not recommend this school for above average (honors/AP) high school student.
There are 3 positives. 1. In the winter, there are many winter sports you can do: snowboarding etc. 2. nothing to do when there is no snow makes it easier to study. 3. The professors are amazing. I mean these students are spoiled with these amazing professors.
Located in the Middle of nowhere. No girls or bars or clubs in town to meet girls. The average school club has like 8 people in it. Most people here are awkward and yet judgmental. This school has a smaller student body than many community colleges in Michigan. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE AN OLDER STUDENT. you will be miserable here if you start out past age 19. There is a severe lack of age diversity in undergrad here, and you will be seen as the weird older student and have not much in common with other students (for all you military vets and "non traditional student" types).
If you choose this place, your social life is likely to be put on hold for a few years.
