This mall has been on life support for the last 20 years or so. It could really use a remodeling; the plastic trees and wood chips have been there for 30 years and still smell of cigarette smoke.
So empty, it's down right depressing. The few businesses left have issues with the owner of the mall living up to contact agreements. Mall owner clearly not interested in helping business in the Copper Country. Little wonder people want to start businesses elsewhere
Nearly all of the stores in the mall are closed. The main remaining stores are Sears Hometown and Dunham's. Gogebic Community College and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services have offices there. There is a store that sells internet service and also a beauty salon. There are also a couple of fitness businesses and a movie theater.
Unfortunately most of the business have left the mall. It's sad to see such a loss of business in a small community. It was always a five star Mini mall when the mall had occupants. Last time I was there, there was only two stores left.
The mall is okay in the respect that if you know what you need to get from here. Don't expect this mall to be like others. It's for a movie theatre, community college campus, Sears, and hardware store. There are also seasonal stores here for holidays like Halloween and Christmas.
