It's right on the portage so it has great views. great pool room. Always my favorite place to stay in houghton
Stay many times and found it to be a decent place for a couple of nights, but not likely any longer. Comfortable enough. Clean enough. Staff is competent but not overly friendly. Price is fair for the area. GET A LAKE VIEW ROOM even though it's a few dollars more as the parking lot side subjects you to obnoxiously BRIGHT lights all night and in the winter the snow makes it near intolerable.
Nice place to stay near the MTU campus. Right on the portage. If you are a Husky family member, don't forget to mention it at check in - there is a discount.
Great place, very scenic. Deck outside so you can observe all the boats passing by. We use Wyndham rewards and book before we get there. Guaranteed a parking lot room. Staff said they are not allowed to change your room. Seems to be an obvious trend with this program...always the furthest to walk wherever you book. Anyhow, this was clean and offered a good breakfast in the morning. Internet service was good.
Our room was infested with ants! The poor girl at the front office seemed like it was her first weekend working couldn't get a hold of a manager, because for some reason management doesn't work weekends? So we got a smaller room and she said we will get a $20 discount... Oh yeah the pool had ants as well. But the view is freaking amazing, and the town is cool!
