Our church has one purpose & that's to reach the lost of our area. That means everything we do is focused on reaching them. We have seen many unchurched & lost come to know Jesus over the last few years. Truly Kingdom work!
A warm and loving church where the focus is on the "unchurched" (Jesus said "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners" Matt. 9:12-13) so Houghton Baptist, in my mind, is following scripture. And, in following scripture, we need to tell the lost about sin and it's consequences ("For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"...Romans 3:23). As a member of this Church, bringing folks to Christ is number one. Also, the level of involvement of the Church members is nothing short of amazing. Most everyone at this Church is involved in some way, be it ministries or just helping out on the fly. We recently expanded the Church and nearly everyone was involved in one way or another. It truly is a Church Family! All are welcome at the Church (it's really non-denominational in my mind) so I welcome those who have reviewed the Church to come on back and spend some time with us. I have found that it really takes several weeks or months to get to know a Church!
